First off, Linda and I want to thank you for standing with us in prayer and regular financial support. We trust you enjoyed a Blessed Christmas and are preparing for a productive New Year!
In the Fall of 2016 Discovery Family Ministries will celebrate 25 years of carrying the message of freedom from alcoholism and other bondages to literally thousands of people!
Since our inception in 1992, we have facilitated over 1,500 Discovery Groups. During 2015 alone, we will have presented the Discovery Approach to recovery to 9,390 men and women at these Ministry Venues: Wings of Life, The Shoulder Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center, the Home of Grace for Women, The Refuge in Lucedale, MS, local churches and Discovery Groups.
Additionally, every week we have provided counseling for individuals, including ministers, who suffer in silence. DFM provides ministry and work opportunities for those delivered from addiction and life crises. They are vital members of our Discovery Team.
All these ministries are offered without charge. Our monthly financial support comes from those friends who value our mission: Empowering Lives to Change for Good Through Proven Principles that Lead to Peace and Productivity.

I simply present the Word of God and how it has worked for me as a recovering person. That is all it takes.

This bold topic was presented with compassion and sensitivity. Our purpose was to begin a conversation that has long been ignored.
From their formation as a nation, God’s special favor had rested upon Israel, but like nagging children, the people begged God to give them a king so they could be “like all the other nations.”
When God turned them over to their own desire, difficult days precipitated that resulted in civil war. Their first king Saul changed from a naïve young man into a full-blown psychotic maniac.
Read MoreOur new Joshua, Yeshua, has come! He has the power to forgive the sin of those who come to Him in truth. No one else but Yeshua can provide the necessary remittance for our sins. He did this through His own blood sacrifice once for all!
We do not deny, excuse or build a self-defense. Our sin is ever before us. We admit it, make amends and then surprisingly, we find unexpected mercy.
He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Proverbs 28:13 NKJV Now mercy triumphs over judgment! James 2:13 NKJV
For all of us in recovery this truth is exhilarating! You see, The sins of some people are blatant and march them right into court. The sins of others don’t show up until much later. 1 Timothy 5:24 MSG
Read MoreOur world has become a scary place for many. Even in our own country God the Father is not welcomed. He is not genuinely considered in our strategy meetings and progressively He is dismissed as being “out of touch.” Except for token acknowledgments, one would imagine that we had created ourselves. If necessary, we make a god in our own image, for our personal advancement, one that fits our agenda. Sometimes all this makes me critical; at other times, sad and grieved in spirit.
